100 days projects

The 100 Days Project Scotland,  started and hosted by Isla Munro, is a personal and community creative activity. As Isla says, the project is both wonderfully simple, and deceptively challenging. There are only two rules: 1, repeat a simple creative task everyday for 100 days, and 2, record each day’s effort.

I’ve taken part each summer from 2020 to 2025. It’s been a stimulus to show up and be creative every day, in however small a way. And it’s reminded me that even tiny creative actions, repeated enough, become satisfyingly large and meaningful bodies of work. Many of the 100 day-ers post their daily creative works on Instagram, and there’s a beautiful community sharing and commenting on and appreciating each other’s creative activity and keeping each other going over the length of each summer’s project.
